PLAYOFFS??

Somehow … there are Bears fans still talking about the playoffs. That just brings out the Jim Mora in me.

What is it Bears fans want to see in the playoffs? Three and outs? Chinese fire-drills in the backfield when all we need is a yard? Offensive linemen playing musical chairs looking like the keystone cops to Benny Hill music? Chuck Pagano sitting in nickel prevent rushing Khalil Mack and three down linemen? He calls that a blitz by the way.

How about pretending Tarik Cohen is a running back? All sixty pounds of him. Send him right up the gut on 3rd and 1, they won’t expect that. Let’s have more Anthony Miller seeing potential contact coming and stepping out of bounds before first down markers. It breaks my heart to see the defense have to sell their souls to Pagano and playball-less, soul-less defense like that .. .an insult to the legend of the Monsters. It’s pathetic. It’s sad. And I want it gone.

There wouldn’t be anyone in the playoffs we could beat. When we had a team that could beat the Eagles, we couldn’t beat the Eagles … and I don’t blame that on a double-doink. Parkey had just split the uprights seconds earlier. Calling a timeout int he middle of a kick should not be allowed. That’s effectively cheating -he has to make the same kick seconds later having expended energy.

Nope, it was the suddenly conservative Nagy, who had shelved Santa’s Sleigh and all of his other trickery .. it was the flaccid defense of Vic Fangio – who lo and behold would be replaced by a man even more flaccid.

Our coaching staff have failed our players. They have failed, not the players. Nagy is seemingly embarrassed by I-formation football. Football that works. Pagano is reluctant to put pressure on quarterbacks and thinks that owning Khalil Mack is all you have to do to have a pass rush. Hiestand had a reputation for this stuff. A good one. I know I can’t see it. I see chaos in the run blocking. How are these people employed? How does Ryan Pace still have a job? They’re letting him flush another draft down the toilet?

And Mitchell is a nice boy … but for some reason best known to himself … he refuses to read the field. He’s just not the guy. The Texans got him.

No, we don’t belong in the playoffs. That’s a place for football teams. So back Dallas in Week 14 … have your organs on them.
